Sponsoring Kids with Medical Issues
On our recent dental trip, a facial mass was discovered in 6 year old, Joshua Osei. Our medical director, Dr. Elijah Asamoah was on site and immediately biopsied the mass which allowed for a quick diagnosis and subsequent treatment. It was discovered that Joshua had Burkitt’s Lymphoma. However, the cost of the tests and treatment were far out of reach for his family. Because of your support we were able to cover all of Joshua’s medical needs.
We were then made aware of 3 year old Kwaku Boateng. Kwaku is battling Wilms’ tumor or kidney cancer. His parents could not afford his testing or treatment but again because of donations, Ghana Ministries was able to cover the costs and Kwaku’s prognosis is favorable.
This brings us to 16 year old Shalinda Akosah. In June 2019 Dr. Asamoah performed surgery to debulk a tumor in her left cheek. She was supposed to receive chemotherapy and radiation in the area post-surgery but, as is so common in a developing country, the family could not cover the costs and she went without the necessary treatments. Her tumor grew quickly in a short period of time. In January 2020 Shalinda visited Dr. Asamoah and with Ghana Ministries we made arrangements for her to receive the treatment she so desperately needed. Her father, Rogers, was not a believer but has now given his life to Christ!

Working to Improve the Lives of Orphaned Students
Although it is our goal to never need an orphanage, we know we are commanded to help in the present circumstances. Ghana Ministries continues to seek out new partnerships to help care for orphans through healthcare and education.
