Ongoing Projects in Ghana
Sponsoring Kids with Medical Issues
On our recent dental trip, a facial mass was discovered in 6 year old, Joshua Osei. Our medical director, Dr. Elijah Asamoah was on site and immediately biopsied the mass which allowed for a quick diagnosis and subsequent treatment. It was discovered that Joshua had Burkitt’s Lymphoma. However, the cost of the tests and treatment were far out of reach for his family. Because of your support we were able to cover all of Joshua’s medical needs.
We were then made aware of 3 year old Kwaku Boateng. Kwaku is battling Wilms’ tumor or kidney cancer. His parents could not afford his testing or treatment but again because of donations, Ghana Ministries was able to cover the costs and Kwaku’s prognosis is favorable.
This brings us to 16 year old Shalinda Akosah. In June 2019 Dr. Asamoah performed surgery to debulk a tumor in her left cheek. She was supposed to receive chemotherapy and radiation in the area post-surgery but, as is so common in a developing country, the family could not cover the costs and she went without the necessary treatments. Her tumor grew quickly in a short period of time. In January 2020 Shalinda visited Dr. Asamoah and with Ghana Ministries we made arrangements for her to receive the treatment she so desperately needed. Her father, Rogers, was not a believer but has now given his life to Christ!
If you would like to help us to support these kids and others like them please consider donating today! All donations are tax deductible.
Working to Improve the Lives of Orphaned Students
Although it is our goal to never need an orphanage, we know we are commanded to help in the present circumstances. Ghana Ministries continues to seek out new partnerships to help care for orphans through healthcare and education.

Medical/Dental Mission Trip! September 2020
Under the leadership of medical director, Dr. Elijah Asamoah, a short term medical/dental mission trip is planned for this year.
We can’t wait until the science lab is fully built and complete! At the orphanage and school that we work with, the director had the foresight and wisdom to build a science lab. The lab attracts more students, provides an opportunity for students to learn about chemistry, physics, and biology as well as food prep and textiles education. Additionally, the lab will increase the income of the school and orphanage enabling it to be more self-sufficient.
The Boys’ Dormitory
The previous condition of the boys’ dormitory was crowded, very hot and had poor ventilation. In addition, the roof had rotted and black mold was everywhere. But now the roof has been replaced and new windows were installed. We are excited about the potential future build-ups that the new roof provides as well!
Sponsoring Children with Medical Issues
6-year-old Joshua Osei, 3-year-old Kwaku Boateng, and 16-year-old Shalinda Akosah were all in need of medical attention. Because of our amazing team members, we have been able to diagnose and help treat their various ailments. In all cases, the children’s families did not have the money to cover the costs of their treatment but because of your support, Ghana Ministries has been able to pick up those costs.
What Makes Ghana Ministries Different?
We recognize it is our responsibility to vet, to the best of our ability, anyone receiving funds and ensure that funds are used for the intended purposes. Thorough research is done to verify the legitimacy of the needs of an individual, orphanage or village. Monitoring is continuous and follow-up is consistent and ongoing.
“Hands-on” is our approach. We believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus which is why our team strives for quarterly visits. We keep in direct involvement with projects we are funding. We are also in constant contact with our resident team members.
Caring and Talented Team
“We welcome Richmond Boampong as our full-time Field Administrator. Richmond is a certified accountant and oversees all financial matters in Ghana as well as being the “face” of Ghana Ministries. He spent most of his childhood in the very orphanage we serve. He comes to us with the highest recommendations and we are thrilled to have him on board. Please see our About Us page to learn more about Richmond.
We have partnered with Dr. Elijah E. Asamoah (Owuraku Asamoah Brempong), a noted oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Ghana. He is our Medical Director in Ghana overseeing all of our medical and dental outreach programs and our sponsored medical patients.
