On a recent dental mission, we identified a facial mass in 6-year-old Joshua Osei. Thanks to the immediate action of our on-site medical director, Dr. Elijah Asamoah, we were able to quickly diagnose Joshua with Burkitt’s Lymphoma and initiate treatment. The costs of the tests and treatment were far beyond his family’s means, but thanks to your support, we were able to cover all of Joshua’s medical needs.
We also came across 3-year-old Kwaku Boateng, who is bravely fighting Wilms’ tumor, a type of kidney cancer. Once again, your donations enabled Ghana Ministries to cover the testing and treatment costs that Kwaku’s parents couldn’t afford. Now, Kwaku’s prognosis looks promising.
We met 16-year-old Shalinda Akosah in June 2019, when Dr. Asamoah performed surgery to debulk a tumor in her left cheek. Shalinda was supposed to receive chemotherapy and radiation post-surgery, but her family couldn’t afford the costs, a common situation in developing countries. Her tumor grew quickly in a short period of time. However, in January 2020, Shalinda visited Dr. Asamoah, and with the support of Ghana Ministries, we arranged for her to receive the vital treatment she needed. In this process, her father, Rogers, who was not initially a believer, gave his life to Christ!
If you would like to help us support these children and others like them, please consider donating today. All donations are tax deductible.
While our ultimate goal is a world where orphanages are no longer needed, we know we are commanded to help under the present circumstances. Ghana Ministries continues to seek out new partnerships to improve the lives of orphans through healthcare and education, embodying Christ’s love in our actions and endeavors.
